Travel & Accommodation

GETTING THERE

Flying into Turkey:

Direct flights to Bodrum Milas International Airport are available from some countries - so check this first to avoid connecting flights.

Or you can connect through Istanbul or Ankara via these airports:

Atatürk International Airport (Istanbul - European side)

Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (Istanbul - Asian side)

Esenboga International Airport (in Ankara)

And make sure you have connecting flights to Bodrum from the same airport in Istanbul as they are far away from each other.

Flying to Bodrum from within Turkey:

Many flights with several local airlines are available to BODRUM MILAS AIRPORT from both Istanbul airports as well as Ankara Esenboga airport:

Turkish Airlines

Pegasus Airlines

Atlas Jet

Onur Air

From the airport to your hotel:

TAXI: Available outside the airport. If staying near the wedding location should cost around 100-150 TL (approx €20-30)

UBER: Available in Bodrum (only XL) if you are using the app - usually Vito style. Prices will vary around 100 TL (approx €20).

SHUTTLE: They leave regularly directly to the center of Bodrum from which you can catch a taxi (a little closer) or a loca mini-bus.

Last (but not least) Details

For Bodrum

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

We want to see you as much as possible so if you can, do at least plan to arrive on Friday as we'll be there and free (or mostly at least!)

WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE?

The weather in Bodrum in September is normally sunny and warm/hot.

SHALL I BRING MY BATHING SUIT?

Yes! Türkbükü is a bay and a "beach-walk" runs along  the whole bay by the sea, lined with decks where you can suntan and go into the sea directly or from ladders.

It's warm enough to swim in the sea (and would be a shame not to) so make sure to pack some beachwear! Hotels usually give you towels if you are staying on the sea-front. If not local hamam style towels are available to buy : reasonable, practical and as a good souvenir.

WHAT'S THE CURRENCY?

The local currency is the Turkish Lira (which literally sunk against major currencies this year - lucky you!). Although hotels usually charge in euros.

Major credit cards (namely Visa and Mastercard) are accepted  almost everywhere but it's practical to have some cash on you. You can exchange at the airport or at worse at hotels (Dollars and Euros but less recommended).

ANY SHOPPING TO BE DONE?

There are small boutiques and stands on the sea-front selling peshtemals (hammam-style towels), trinkets and varied clothing. For further touristic shopping you can head to Bodrum center either by taxi (20-30mins) or with a min-bus shuttle (30-40mins ride). Or by car if you've rented one of course.

For the Wedding

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE TO RSVP?

Please confirm your attendance by the 22nd of August (1 month before the big day). Either contacting us directly or via this site.

WHAT'S THE DRESS CODE?

Wedding: Formal, black tie optional. The wedding area is on a deck so all heels accepted.

In general: Casual summer wear. Heels are not worn generally as most places are not fit for them (opt for wedges if you want).

WHERE CAN I GET MY HAIR AND MAEKUP DONE?

There are not many "great" options. seeing as this is a summer village. You can book at the bigger hotels (Divan, Hilton..) or go for not overly complicated hair-dos at a local hairdresser. Recommended you do your own makeup or by a talented friend.

WHAT'S THE PROCEDURE OF A TURKISH WEDDING ?

The ceremony will not be a religious one. It lasts in total about 10-15mins. Led by a municipal authority, with witnesses on both sides.

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Not unless we know them well. We're trying to keep this as intimate as possible; to share our big day with those that are close to us.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

Unfortunately, as much as we’d love to invite all of our friends’ children, we can only accommodate a few close family children. We hope that you will understand this decision and we very much hope you will still be able to join us on our special day. We also thought you might like a weekend off!

MOST IMPORTANTLY, HOW DO WE SHARE PHOTOS TAKEN WITH OUR PHONES?

Please use the hashtag #sabrinaserhan

WHO SHOULD I CONTACT FOR FURTHER QUESTIONS?

Sabrina is a safer bet : +90 535 5662931 - by Whatsapp or phone. If you are desperate you can try Serhan :) +90 532 6916983.
